"You guys are pathetic, protectors of the planet? That's so sad" - Vince during the fight scene of the pilot episode 'In Memoria'

"Make me." - After being told to go die

Vince

Basic[]

Voiced by Hunter Hughes, Vince is the primary antagonist of Chronexia and the Eight seals.

It's noteworthy that Vince is half race, half elf and half human. He inspires fear into the heart's of his foes, becoming a living legend by the beginning of Misty's trials.

Appearance[]

Vince is a tall man with light skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. He is also quite muscular, being shown as able to hold a grown woman by the neck while simultaneously drawing his sword.

His blonde/yellow hair is cut short and spiky around the back and sides, with a long strand on the left side hanging down the front, and he is clean shaven.

Clothing wise, he is usually seen in a high collared sleeveless white ensemble that resembles a classic rpg mage robe with a flowing cape.(in the concept art it appears more desert themed)

Personality[]

Vince is generally sarcastic, and makes quite a few wisecracks at the team's efforts in the pilot episode, mocking their moves as they flail about in the first few scenes. He is cunning and without honour, killing the civillian Michelle in the battle sequence and managing to hold off many attackers at once before the combined forces of Achilles, Aleck and Dyol* take him down.

** It is actually unknown who threw the knives, but in the novel Dyol is the one to specialize in throwing knives so it was probably meant to be her.

In the novel Vince is a merciless half elf hellbent on the destruction of life in Mana, although his motives as to why aren't very clear. Vince enjoys nothing more than to play games of cat and mouse and just general mind games. He's very sarcastic and delights in joking around whenever he's fighting. Vince could be described as sociopathic, or may have had a difficult past.

Abilities[]

Extreme Durability

Vince is easily able to overpower everyone he faces, facing the wrath of 7 member's of Mana's elite with little effort in the pilot episode. However, he isn't invincible as the combined forces of Aleck and Achilles overwhelm him thanks to the support of Dyol's* throwing knives. He is physically strong, being able to shatter Krissy's leg bones and toss Mack around like a ragdoll with ease.

He has also been shown to be skilled in defense with only his shield, never activating his Fae during the battle that lead to his demise.

Summoning Demons[]

Vince appears to be allied with the demons and they fight for him to the death during the battle, serving as a distraction for many members of the elite, particularly Flora, Maxim and Socrates who all specialize in magic.

Tactics[]

Vince has a sound tactical mind, successfully dividing and conquering Mana's elite. He used the demons to distract key members of the party, and was able to accurately predict and adjust to defend against multiple different fighting styles, such as hand to hand combat, card magic and swordplay.

Relationships[]

Achilles Watson

Achilles is immediately alarmed by the news of Vince's latest attack, suggesting the two of them have history as adversaries. He is deeply angered by Vince's callous disregard of a Civillian life despite not having known Michelle closely. Vince ilicit's a strong enough reaction from Achilles to activate his Fae, and needless to say does not write kindly about their encounter in his memoirs.

Socrates Crescent

Michelle was Socrates wife and her death absolutely shattered him, leaving him unable to find the will to keep fighting during the battle with Vince. After Michelle's death Socrates became a recluse, all thanks to Vince.

Tom Watson

Out of all the group, Tom is the one with the most personal vendetta against Vince. Tom contantly has nightmares of he and his companions being killed by someone weilding Vince's golden sword. His hatred for Vince also stems from what he read about the battle in his father Achille's memoirs.

Mana

Vince tried to destroy the sphere of life once before, and Mana has never forgiven this despite her seeming outwardly cold and indifferent. Because of this she agrees to peform a FULL sync with Pearle, creating Marle.

Trivia[]

  • Vince is actually only a general in a cult seeking the destruction of the sphere of life.
  • Halfway through the Novel he's swapped with the leader of the group in Tom's dreams.
  • He is the only other half elf in the series besides Noemi Watson.
